exsoft Successfully Completes HanmiGlobal's Next-Generation ECM System Upgrade

The project comprehensively enhanced document management standards, security policies, and system integrations to meet the needs of a construction PM company managing large-scale and complex projects. It is regarded as a notable example demonstrating the construction PM industry’s growing need to transform its document management practices.
Construction PM companies must manage vast amounts of documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning to completion. In an environment where numerous stakeholders share documents, maintaining clarity and ensuring that documents remain up to date are critical to project quality. It is also essential to apply flexible security policies based on individual roles and permissions. These requirements become even more important for companies managing multiple large-scale and complex projects.
HanmiGlobal has continuously operated and enhanced its project document management system while carrying out numerous large-scale projects. As its domestic and overseas operations expanded and projects became larger and more complex, the company sought to advance its enterprise-wide document management framework and improve both document usability and operational efficiency across its projects.
The project focused on six key objectives:
▲Complete replacement of the aging ECM system
▲Establishment of a unified project document management framework integrating the project management system (MPMS) with ECM
▲Integrated management of approval documents through electronic approval system integration
▲Consolidation of enterprise-wide document access permissions and security policies
▲Improved document accessibility and usability through integrated search
▲Enhanced system performance and operational stability
Using its eXrep/EDMS electronic document management system, exsoft established a next-generation environment for the systematic and integrated management of previously distributed documents and information assets. In particular, exsoft applied a document classification framework and management model tailored to the characteristics of construction and PM projects. This created an integrated content management environment designed to deliver both practical usability and operational stability. The system has been deployed for approximately 1,650 employees across HanmiGlobal’s headquarters and two affiliated companies.
Through the project, HanmiGlobal consolidated its previously fragmented project document environments into a unified management framework. Replacing the aging ECM system improved document storage and search performance, while integration with key business systems—including the project management and electronic approval systems—reduced duplicate document management and the inconvenience of manual transfers.
Enterprise-wide access permissions and security policies now enable users to access and utilize documents according to their roles. Integrated search also allows employees to retrieve documents distributed across multiple systems through a single interface, reducing the time required to find information.
Enhanced system performance and stability have reduced delays and errors during document uploads, retrieval, and sharing. The project has also minimized confusion and administrative burdens throughout project document management, providing HanmiGlobal with a foundation for managing documents according to consistent standards.
A HanmiGlobal representative said, “In an environment where multiple large-scale projects are carried out simultaneously, document management is not merely a system issue—it is a critical management factor directly linked to project quality. This project has enabled us to establish consistent document management standards across our projects and create a more stable foundation for project operations.”
Jun-ho Park, Executive Vice President at exsoft, said, “Document management environments inevitably become more complex for companies undertaking large-scale and multifaceted projects. This project is significant because it went beyond a simple system replacement to comprehensively improve document management standards, security policies, and system integrations based on HanmiGlobal’s operational requirements.” He added, “We will continue responding proactively to demand for advanced ECM systems, particularly among large enterprises and organizations in the financial and public sectors.”
